Entry Level Firefighter

Entry-level firefighters are responsible for preforming emergency and non-emergency tasks involving fire suppression, emergency medical services, fire prevention, and more. To be eligible to apply, applicants must:

Complete the online Personal History Statement (PHS) with Public Safety Testing (PST)
Complete initial testing (written exam)
Pass a physical abilities test (CPAT)

Paramedic/Firefighter

Paramedic Firefighters preform skilled emergency and non-emergency tasks involving fire suppression, emergency medical services, fire prevention, and more, while having an active Washington State or National Registry Paramedic certification. To be eligible to apply, applicants must:

Hold a current Washington State or National Registry Paramedic certification
Have a valid CPAT within past year

Lateral Firefighter EMT/Paramedic

A Lateral Firefighter EMT/Paramedic preforms the same duties as required of entry level and has completed three consecutive years of paid experience as a full-time firefighter. In order to be eligible to apply, applicants must:

Have three consecutive years of paid experience as a full-time firefighter
Have completed the probationary period with current Firefighter employer
Have a valid CPAT within past year
Be a current Washington State or National Registry EMT (NREMT)
Have current IFSAC Firefighter I and II certificates
Have a current IFSAC Hazardous Materials Awareness and Operations certification
