In Person Inspections

The City of Richland conducts active permit inspections Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Inspection requests received via the on-line service prior to 4:00 p.m. will be scheduled on the next available business day. Phoned in inspections via our request line at 509-942-7565 require 48 hour notice.

At this time we do not guarantee times for inspections.

 Virtual Inspections 

 The City of Richland Development Services Department has implemented a virtual inspection program for water heaters, HVAC replacements and window installation permits.

Virtual inspections allow our inspectors to remotely view your project by utilizing the homeowners or contractor’s smart phone, iPad or tablet, along with the free application ZOOM. Inspections are normally complete in 10-15 minutes. If minor corrections are necessary, the homeowner or contractor can complete them immediately. This saves time and money, and increases efficiency.
